All the latest for Nitehawk Cinema for the week of April 13 – April 19.

First up, let’s start outside the theater…our brand-spanking-new sidewalk cafe will open this weekend starting on Saturday. All our delicious food and beverage can now be enjoyed in the sunshine.

Two new films…
Friends with Kids – the title kind of gives it away but this comedy is indeed about what happens when friends decide to forgo a relationship but have a kid.

The Kid with the Bike – a young boy is abandoned by his father and then embarks on an epic search for his bike. No, this isn’t Pee Wee’s Big Adventure but it is en français.

Three same films…
We embrace the unstoppability of The Raid, The Hunger Games, and Jeff Who Lives at Home.

Midnight Movies…
Man have we got some killer treats for you this weekend at midnight. First, the Raspberry Brothers breath comedic life into the murder machine Jason Voorhees as he takes Manhattan (Saturday and Sunday at 12:15am) and then we have the sexually complicated slasher child in Sleepaway Camp (Saturday and Sunday at 12:35am).

Brunch Movies…
You can yearn for summer love or cheer on grease lightning with our screening of the American musical classic, Grease. Playing Saturday and Sunday at noon. On Sunday at 12:30pm we’re also having a music and movie event featuring live music by Hayes Greenfield, Todd Turkisher, and Paul Socolow played to Buster Keaton’s 7 Chances. If you’re more of an evening chap, this will also happen on Tuesday (April 17) at 7:45pm.

VHS Vault…
VHS Vault’s Monsters month continues with the wild and weird Castle Freak (Stuart Gordon). In the upstairs lobby, starts at 8pm but come early for drinks and a seat. FREE FREE FREE!
