Last night, Nitehawk hosted a special one-night screening of Paul Williams Still Alive (directed by Stephen Kessler) with the man himself in attendance. Ben Shapiro (Editor in Chief at Noisey) gave a quick introduction to the film and then moderated a Q&A with Paul after the film. Insights revealed: Paul is collaborating with Guillermo del Toro on a Pan’s Labyrinth musical, was just nominated for a Critic’s Choice Award for the title song of the documentary, and will be having a film retro at the Museum of Moving Image in January. We also learned that many fans have gotten married to his music over the years, including a women in the audience last night who had Mr. Williams sign her wedding photo mounted to the back of the music sheet to his song Evergeen, the song she walked down the isle to.

Here’s a short selection of photos from the event – more to come!
