Holiday Mojo from Nitehawk Cinema, people who read this sort of thing. For all of those out there that haven’t activated their Brooklyn escape capsules, Nitehawk is still up and running at normal hours all week, we’re opening a new movie and we have some choice midnights for this weekend.

Django Unchained Unchained

Finally! Quentin Tarantino’s newest slave-revenge-exploitation epic Django Unchained (Tickets) gets unleashed on Christmas Day and we are more than a little stoked to have it from Day 1. Aside from that whopper, we’ll be hanging on to Silver Linings Playbook (Tickets) and Killing Them Softly (Tickets) throughout the week, which means this weekend is your last chance to catch Looper (Tickets) and Seven Psychopaths (Tickets) if you haven’t already.

The Garbage Pail Kids With The Iron Fists at Midnight

This weekend at midnight we have two movies that fulfill entirely different junk-cinema desires. First, RZA’s directorial debut, co-written by Eli Roth and RZA and “Presented By” Quentin Tarantino: The Man With The Iron Fists (Tickets), a blood soaked kung-fu epic that’s loaded with legendary warriors, assassins, and a lone warrior who bashes skulls for peace.

If metallic pro-wrestlers and head-smashing rappers aren’t your bag, we also have a 35 mm gross-out Christmas treat for the rest of you: The Garbage Pail Kids’ Movie (Tickets). An oddball musical adaptation based on the freaky series of Topps trading cards, the GPK movie stars prosthetic-covered little people as terrifying  little creatures born out of a trash can from outer space. We’ll be giving away a bunch of sweet vintage GPK merch at the screening, including card packs and buttons, so if you carry Barfy Barbara or Nat Nerd in your heart, you owe it to yourself to come check out this beautiful piece nightmare fuel.

Soap Poison for Brunch

If you don’t feel like catching it on TNT (Does TNT still exist? – ed) at your grandmother’s house next week, we advise you to come check out Nitehawk crush object Bob Clark’s other Christmas classic A Christmas Story (Tickets) at noon this weekend. Fa ra ra ra ra-ra-rara-raaaa.

And that’s about it for this week! So, regardless if you come check out a movie this week, have a great week and watch a movie or two.
