What’s the Deal with This Movie Anyway?: In this story written and directed by Hannah Fidell, a young teacher (Lindsey Burdge) toys with the ultimate taboo when she becomes romantically involved with one of her students (Will Brittain). What first starts as a heart-racing fling morphs into full-on nasty obsession mode, illustrating that maybe, just maybe, it’s a bad idea for high school teachers to get into it with their hot, hot peers.
Symbiopsychotaxiplasm: Take One (1968) | Tickets
Starring: Patricia Ree Gilbert, Don Fellows, Jonathan Gordon, Robert L. Rosen
When is it Playing: Monday, June 17 at 9:45pm
Who’s Going to Be There: No one.
Really? No one?: Well, we will also be screening the Brooklyn Film Collective short Leal before the film.
How Drunk Can You Get: Not very.
What’s The Deal With This Movie Anyway?: In 1968, filmmaker William Greaves got together some cameras, a cast, and a crew then got some more cameras and a documentary crew and headed out to Central Park to make a movie. No one really seems too sure what they’re filming or why, and that’s kind of the gist of the documentary. A first hand look at the mess at the heart of film making.
Tuesday, June 18
Go Down Death (2013) | Tickets

How Drunk Can You Get: Bring your drinking pants, because there’s a party in the cafe after the screening
What’s The Deal With This Movie Anyway?: A slice of American Gothic was filmed in an abandoned Greenpoint warehouse where Schimberg and his crew painstakingly created several small, spooky stories that involve a child gravedigger, soldiers marching through an endless forest and, apparently, a down-home poetry class for children. All kinds of weirdness going on in this one.
