80s INVADERS
Alien life forms that could only be conceived in the 1980s!
Extraterrestrial creatures have been depicted in cinema in a variety of ways. Often terrifying and murderous, they can be grotesque in appearance and unfriendly in manner. Several films of the 80s imbued the Sci Fi and horror genres with pop culture crossovers, providing a new twist on how to imagine our far flung neighbors. Goofy looking but nonetheless violent clowns, little scampering balls that are not to be mistaken for cuddly pets, sexy vampiric life-suckers, or a rock band traversing the universe in a guitar-shaped ship – they provide different levels of absurdity in a decade brimming with wildly conceived phenomena.
