A TRIBUTE TO TUPAC
On September 13, 1996, we lost an icon. Tupac Shakur was murdered in Las Vegas, Nevada thirty years ago. Of course known as one of the greatest rappers of all time, Tupac was also a rising star in the world of cinema, and only became a better actor as he continued to perform on screen. Starting with his first starring role in a film JUICE in 1992, through to his final film performance in GANG RELATED, we celebrate and honor Tupac’s legacy with screenings of all the major films he was in. The program ends with a screening of two parts of the fantastic Allen Hughes documentary DEAR MAMA, which covers both the lives of Tupac and his mother, iconic activist and Black Panther Afeni Shakur.
