REPRESENTATION
Ongoing series that highlights the work of women filmmakers.
It’s vital for Nitehawk to voice our support of women in film and to be committed to presenting their stories in the cinema. Women directors comprised only 4% of the top 100 films and 8% of the top 250 films released in 2018, so the urgency for audiences to have access to films made by women is more than ever. This ongoing series focuses mainly on new independent movies (and women-identifying) across all genres but also includes classic films to be reminded of the contributions to cinema already made.
Representation matters.
