Right up there with The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Teinosuke Kinugasa’s fascinating 1926 masterwork A Page of Madness is one of the silent film era’s most distinctive horror films. Long lost and unseen, the film, in which a newly hired janitor in a mental hospital is put through a hallucinogenic and mentally disturbed ringer, is more than worthy of a new fandom.
