The third, and last, feature film directed by Diane Keaton, who also stars, Hanging Up centers on Eve (Meg Ryan) and her two sisters, successful magazine entrepreneur Georgia (Diane Keaton) and career-challenged Maddy (Lisa Kudrow), who navigate familial bonds and challenges over telephone conversations as their father Lou (Walter Mathau) faces health issues in a Los Angeles hospital.

This 2000 comedy-drama film is based on the 1995 book by Delia Ephron who also co-wrote the screenplay with her sister Nora Ephron. Though reviews of Hanging Up at the time were tough, it’s been long overdue for a revisit.
