A Photographic Memory

Filmmaker Rachel Elizabeth Seed was only 18 months old when her mother, renowned journalist Sheila Turner Seed, unexpectedly passed away. Driven by a desire to uncover what she left behind, Seed embarks on a journey to meet with people whose lives were touched by her mother. Using audio and photographic archives from her mother’s career, A Photographic Memory is an investigation into the archive in search of remnants of a loved one, reconstructing their image in an attempt to get to know them. Sheila’s intimate interviews with famous photographers including Henri Cartier-Bresson, Gordon Parks, Lisette Model and Bruce Davidson, among others, are brought to life via Rachel’s reimaginings, further immersing us into Sheila’s world as mother and daughter’s worlds merge in unexpected ways.

Found Footage: The Making Of The Patterson Project

An acclaimed documentary crew sets out to chronicle the making of an ambitious “found footage” film about Bigfoot, led by eccentric upstart filmmaker Chase (Brennan Keel Cook) and his ragtag production team. When mysterious and sinister phenomena begin to unfold behind the scenes, it blurs the lines between movie magic and real life. The documentary crew soon learns that they have unwittingly stepped into a very real and very terrifying found footage film of their own making.

Drive (1997)

Starring: Mark Dacascos, Kadeem Hardison, John Pyper-Ferguson, Brittany Murphy, Tracey Walter, James Shigeta

The 1990s gave us countless buddy action films, but few moved with the kinetic style, genre-bending flair, and sheer power of Drive (1997). Directed by Steve Wang, this under-the-radar martial arts sci-fi gem serves up dazzling fight choreography, practical effects wizardry, and, importantly, the criminally overlooked hunky duo of Mark Dacascos and Kadeem Hardison.

When a bio-enhanced fugitive (Dacascos) teams up with a wisecracking drifter (Hardison), the two hit the road with assassins on their tail and increasingly explosive set-pieces in their path. What follows is part video game, part kung fu opera, and all late-’90s charm. A cult favorite waiting for a new, hungry audience, Drive delivers kicks (including a brawl where Dacascos decimates baddies while wearing boots on his hands), chemistry galore, and one of the most watchable action pairings you (probably) never saw.
