David (Omarion Grandberry) and Elgin (Marques Houston) helm a talented street-dancing crew that engages in dance battles in a Los Angeles warehouse belonging to local club owner Mr. Rad (Steve Harvey). When Orange County rich kid Wade (Christopher Jones) challenges David and Elgin to compete against his dancers for $5,000, they accept. As David and Elgin labor to perfect their moves for the competition, tensions within the crew threaten their chances at success.

The great Diane Keaton conceived, produced, wrote and directed her first film Heaven in 1987; a documentary which takes a wonderfully lighthearted look at the Great Beyond. Keaton interspersed outrageous interviews with extraordinary film footage from such European and American film classics as Metropolis, Green Pastures and Stairway to Heaven. It is truly the ultimate coming attraction! Pull up a cloud and take a ride through Heaven.

A girl who’s sick of the social strictures of junior high is transformed into a grownup overnight. In this feel-good fairy tale, teenager Jenna (Christa B. Allen) wants a boyfriend, and when she’s unable to find one, she fantasizes about being a well-adjusted adult. Suddenly, her secret desire becomes a reality, and she is transformed into a 30-year-old (Jennifer Garner). But adulthood, with its own set of male-female challenges, isn’t as easy as it looks.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

King Kong (2005)

Peter Jackson’s expansive remake of the 1933 classic follows director Carl Denham (Jack Black) and his crew on a journey from New York City to the ominous Skull Island to film a new movie. Accompanying him are playwright Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody) and actress Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts), who is whisked away by the monstrous ape, Kong, after they reach the island. The crew encounters dinosaurs and other creatures as they race to rescue Ann, while the actress forms a bond with her simian captor.

It Was Just an Accident

Starring: Vahid Mobasseri, Mariam Afshari, Ebrahim Azizi, Hadis Pakbaten, Majid Panahi, Mohamad Ali Elyasmehr

Vahid, an unassuming mechanic, is suddenly reminded of his time in an Iranian prison when he has a chance encounter with Eghbal, a man he strongly suspects to be his sadistic jailhouse captor. Panicked, Vahid rounds up a few of his fellow ex-prisoners to try and confirm Eghbal’s identity. Master filmmaker Jafar Panahi creates a deeply felt moral thriller, where high stakes tension combines with unexpected flurries of humor and thoughtful, sometimes devastating questions regarding persecution and revenge.

Predator: Badlands

Set in the future on a remote planet, a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.

Hanging Up

Starring: Meg Ryan, Diane Keaton, Lisa Kudrow, Walter Matthau. Adam Arkin

The third, and last, feature film directed by Diane Keaton, who also stars, Hanging Up centers on Eve (Meg Ryan) and her two sisters, successful magazine entrepreneur Georgia (Diane Keaton) and career-challenged Maddy (Lisa Kudrow), who navigate familial bonds and challenges over telephone conversations as their father Lou (Walter Mathau) faces health issues in a Los Angeles hospital.

This 2000 comedy-drama film is based on the 1995 book by Delia Ephron who also co-wrote the screenplay with her sister Nora Ephron. Though reviews of Hanging Up at the time were tough, it’s been long overdue for a revisit.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Starring: Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Doug Jones, Luke Goss

Hellboy (Ron Perlman), his pyrokinetic girlfriend, Liz (Selma Blair), and aquatic empath, Abe Sapien (Doug Jones), face their biggest battle when an underworld prince (Luke Goss) plans to reclaim Earth for his magical kindred. Tired of living in the shadow of humans, Prince Nuada tries to awaken an ancient army of killing machines to clear the way for fantasy creatures to roam free. Only Hellboy can stop the dark prince and prevent humanity’s annihilation.
