Featuring the company of the 5x Tony Award Winning Production of Broadway’s Buena Vista Social Club, we’ll be screening Wim Wender’s documentary film of the same title. We’ll see the behind-the-scenes footage of the real Omara, Ibrahim, Compay and more who created the award-winning music group behind the beloved Cuban album. Join us for an unforgettable celebration of documentary in music, theater, and the creative journey in between with a pre-screening Q&A with Da’Von Moody of the Broadway Company hosted by Grace Aki.

This documentary by lauded German filmmaker Wim Wenders follows renowned guitarist Ry Cooder and his son, Joachim, as they travel to Cuba and assemble a group of the country’s finest musicians to record an album. Among the artists included in the project are singer Ibrahim Ferrer and pianist Rubén González, who are both interviewed and featured in studio footage. Eventually the ensemble travels to the United States to perform in front of rapt audiences.
