Starring: Roger Daltry, Sara Kestelman, Paul Nicholas, Ringo Starr

The Deuce is forever making lists – forever checking them twice – sometimes thrice even – always on the lookout for something naughty AND nice… for YOU… Over its decade-plus run, amassing a metaphorical mountain of such-said nicely naughty lists to be checked and rechecked: a maniacal multitude have we been busy checking... and what do we find?? Our listicles are growing icicles! It’s time to heat things up with the rooty-toot-list-topper of them all!! And since you’ve been so nice to The Deuce, The Deuce is going to stuff your stocking with the naughtiest nicety on our list of lists of LISZTOMANIA!! A glam-tastic tinsel-trimmed treat to tickle your Yuletide need to be naughty… by way of the most bewildering biopic put to film… leave it to Ken Russell to roll over (not Beethoven, but) Franz Liszt!!??!! Yes! The composer most these days remembered via “Chopsticks” – re-imagined by Ken Russell as a randily rambunctious rock-star!!!

Taking a tip from his own TOMMY (and taking its titular star along for the wild titular ride) Russell re-thinks his previous approach to classical composer portrayals – sidelining their angsty brooding of tortured-artists (ie: his MAHLER or THE MUSIC LOVERS) – and opting for more outrageously opulent outre tropes (ie: Nazi vampires, giant dildos, Frankenstein monsters, electric guitar/machine guns and… more!!??!!)… All in the “service” of bio-pic’ing the man who wrote… “Chopsticks”..??!! A take on the classical music-writin’ maestro that musta flummoxed the midtown Ziegfeld crowd into blush-faced, yet titillated, befuddlement but that, as movie-goers in the know, know: everything plays better on and at The Deuce!!!
