An unknown comes out of seemingly nowhere to become a legendary baseball player with almost divine talent in THE NATURAL.

An adaptation of Bernard Malamud’s 1952 novel, The Natural is part of the inspirational baseball film tradition that shows how determination, belief in one’s self, and hard work can produce tremendous rewards. Robert Redford stars as Roy Hobbs, an incredibly talented baseball player who, since childhood, has dreamed of baseball super-stardom and has the goods to back it up. But on his way to achieving his goals, he meets a mysterious and disturbed woman who shatters his goals. Years later, he reappears as a rookie for the New York Knights who, overcoming physical pain and against all odds, defies the nay-sayers to fight for the Knights’ pennant win.
