An Evening With Mark Borchardt

Midnite weekend screenings happen on Friday & Saturday nights (meaning arrive on Friday and/or Saturday night by 11:45pm for seating, the movie starts after midnite)!

Run Time: 70 min. Rating: N/A

Join our guest, director Mark Borchardt, for a mini retrospective of his work followed by a discussion and Q&A.

Mark Borchardt presents his newest offering, The Dundee Project, a delirious trip through the mysteries of ufology and the denizens of an annual event exploring this wondrous possibility — held in the small Wisconsin hamlet of Dundee — who root for their existence. Thrill to the glorious bombasity of “UFO Bob” and like-minded cohorts, as they expound upon all things byzantine as the camera roams the surrounding land and its infinite beauty.

It’s the twenty year mark for the infamous cult film Coven. Mark will be on hand to answer any and all questions about that underground epic and anything else that piques the infinite curiosity of the enthusiastic audience.

Switch gears and take an easy breath as you briefly dip into the world of wintry poetry with Winter Minds.

And Mark presents an extended trailer from his newest horror film, Scare Me. Many years in the making and a few more to go, be on hand as you get a sneak peek at his latest, intriguing offering.

Mark Borchardt
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mark Borchardt began making Super-8 films at the age of fourteen. In 1997, his cult classic Coven, a psychological horror film shot on gritty black & white 16mm film, hit the screen and is now enjoying its twentieth anniversary. As a writer, he has served as theatre critic and book reviewer for a city weekly paper and has contributed film essays for The Onion.

Recently, he co-wrote film director Frankie Latina’s memoir and one of his recent plays, The Painting, is currently being produced. His most recent film, The Dundee Project, premiered at Slamdance this year and was featured in the opening night gala of the Wisconsin Film Festival as it continues a burgeoning run of festivals around the country.
