Sundays on Fire: Secret Hong Kong 35mm Feature
Midnite weekend screenings happen on Friday & Saturday nights (meaning arrive on Friday and/or Saturday night by 11:45pm for seating, the movie starts after midnite)!
Run Time: 93 min. Format: 35mm
Warning: Images are not from the movies we’re showing. Trust us, you can’t imagine what we’re showing!
A career-making film from the late-90s, this caper flick rarely gets screened, but it turned out to be a landmark for both its director and its stars. An anthem to urban loneliness, job dissatisfaction, and unconsummated romance, it’s as light on its feet as Ocean’s 11, as stylish as North By Northwest, and as heart-achingly emotional as a Cantopop power ballad. Featuring two of Hong Kong’s biggest stars playing lonely men who re-discover their love of life by shooting at each other, it’s a rousing, ridiculous, over-the-top supernova of fun, that reminds us this holiday season that what we have to be thankful for are Hong Kong movies.
