Megan (Natasha Lyonne) considers herself a typical American girl. She excels in school and cheerleading, and she has a handsome football-playing boyfriend, even though she isn’t that crazy about him. So she’s stunned when her parents decide she’s gay and send her to True Directions, a boot camp meant to alter her sexual orientation. While there, Megan meets a rebellious and unashamed teen lesbian, Graham (Clea DuVall). Though Megan still feels confused, she starts to have feelings for Graham.

Before the screening: QUEER SOUP NIGHT Pride Edition at Nitehawk Cinema!

This year, QSN celebrates Brooklyn Pride with an endless night of soup, drag queens and queer cinema! Join us at Nitehawk Cinema on Prospect Park West as we raise funds for interACT: Advocates for Intersex Youth. We’ll also be donating $1 from every New York Distilling cocktail special sold to interACT.

From 6:30-9pm, Chefs Jenn de la Vega, Blessing Schuman-Strange and Caroline McAuliffe will serve up piping hot bowls of their own creation, paired with breads from Bread Alone. Veggie, vegan, gf options always available. Soup service will continue all evening. We will not run out of soup!

NO tickets required for soup and party from 6:30-9pm. Just show up! All ages welcome. Donations for interACT will be collected at the door (suggested donation $10-20 per person but no one turned away for lack of funds). Drinks available at the cash bar.

For the film screening and drag show, tickets ARE REQUIRED.
