Slay

Midnite weekend screenings happen on Friday & Saturday nights (meaning arrive on Friday and/or Saturday night by 11:45pm for seating, the movie starts after midnite)!

Director: Kyra Gardner Run Time: 89 min. Format: DCP Release Year: 2026

Life is good for Chloe, a teenaged social media celebrity, but her world is upended when one of her good friends is butchered to death. Hoping to escape her sadness, she calls on her best still-breathing friends to head to a cabin for some partying; it’s too bad, though, that a masked killer is also ready to party, albeit in a slice-and-dice, bodycount-raising manner. BHFF alum filmmaker Kyra Elise Gardner (LIFE WITH CHUCKY) returns to the festival with a SCREAM-influenced queer slasher in which the kills are vicious, the characters are vibrant and the whodunit storyline memorably pays off. In other words, SLAY is bubblegum-flavored manna for slasher fans. —Matt Barone
