Thu, Apr 30

Midnite weekend screenings happen on Friday & Saturday nights (meaning arrive on Friday and/or Saturday night by 11:45pm for seating, the movie starts after midnite)!

Live Sound Cinema score by Order of the Illusive

Director: Shin'ya Tsukamoto Run Time: 67 min. Format: DCP Rating: NR Release Year: 1989 Language: Japanese with English subtitles

Starring: Shin’ya Tsukamoto, Tomorô Taguchi, Kei Fujiwara

A “metal fetishist” (Shin’ya Tsukamoto), driven mad by the maggots wriggling in the wound he’s made to embed metal into his flesh, runs out into the night and is accidentally run down by a Japanese businessman (Tomorowo Taguchi) and his girlfriend (Kei Fujiwara). The pair dispose of the corpse in hopes of quietly moving on with their lives. However, the businessman soon finds that he is now plagued by a vicious curse that transforms his flesh into iron.

To mark their continued collaboration with Nitehawk Cinema, Order of the Illusive returns with a live score to Tetsuo: The Iron Man. Featuring Geoff Gersh (guitar & electronics), Bradford Reed (pencilina & percussion) and Zach Layton (17-string bass & effects), the group channels the film’s industrial brutality into an immersive performance of feedback, rhythm, and sonic erosion, where image and sound fuse into a single, unrelenting experience.
